WINELL HERRON

Treasurer | Group VP of Public Affairs, Diversity and Environmental Affairs, H-E-B

Winell serves as Group Vice President of Public Affairs, Diversity and Environmental Affairs for H-E-B. In her role, Winell has made her mark as a statewide community leader through strategic decisions related to philanthropic giving throughout the H-E-B footprint (Texas and Mexico).

Winell earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin. She later completed the Food Industry Management Program at the University of Southern California and went on to receive her Executive MBA from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Her career at H-E-B began in Austin store operations. Since then, she has held many positions including service team leader, director of workforce diversity, vice president of customer service, and group vice president of diversity and people development. She was then promoted to her current position.

Winell and her team are very active in the community leading the philanthropic efforts of H-E-B, however she is also personally involved in many non-profit organizations. She serves on the boards of the Ensemble Theatre, March of Dimes, Texas Cultural Trust, Houston Museum of African American Culture, and the Tobin Performing Arts Center (San Antonio) as well as a member of the executive committee for the M.D. Anderson Board of Visitors, and Board of Trustees for the University of Incarnate Word (San Antonio). Additionally, she is a Texas Lyceum Alumnus and a member of the Houston Chapter of Links, Inc.

Winell and her husband William (Doug), reside in Houston.
