L’Sheryl D. Hudson

L’Sheryl D. Hudson is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Houston-based Equus Total Return, Inc. (“Equus”), a publicly traded private equity fund investing in small-to-medium sized privately-owned businesses. Her responsibilities include SEC reporting, financial reporting, treasury, and financial analysis for the firm.

Prior to joining Equus, L’Sheryl was Director at Houston-based WestLB Asset Management where she was responsible for firm operations, including mutual fund accounting, trade settlement, and performance measurement for privately held and publicly traded domestic and international fixed income, global high yield, and short duration funds.

Her prior roles include Director, Enron Corporation (Houston, TX); Trust Manager, American Beacon Funds (Arlington, TX); Assistant Vice President, Blaylock & Partners (New York, NY); Senior Financial Analyst, Salomon Brothers (New York, NY); and Auditor, PwC (Houston, TX).

L’Sheryl holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin. She is a Certified Public Accountant (Texas State Board of Certified Public Accountants). She was also a Registered Representative (Series 7 and 63).

L’Sheryl was elected to the Brazoria County Municipal Utility District #6 Board of Directors in 2007 and is currently Board Secretary. She is a member of the Collaborative for Children Board of Directors and serves as Audit Committee Chair. L’Sheryl is currently the South Central Region Associate Chair of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. She also served as Regional Director and Regional Treasurer and served on the Jack and Jill Foundation Board of Directors.

L’Sheryl is a life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, the Texas Ex-Students Association (Texas Exes), and the National Black M.B.A. Association (NBMBAA).
